‘Okay okay okay okay’
It sounds like something you might
say when things are going a little farther than you expected. As in, “Okay okay
okay okay, you’re stronger than me. Now let me out of the headlock.” Or, “Okay okay okay okay, I was just joking about
fitting an entire hot dog in your mouth.” I’m not sure is these were the types
of situations Okayokayokok was trying to evoke when he chose his pseudonym, but
it would make sense if he was.
Regardless, Sanderson Step Sisters, Okayokayokay’s multi-issue pay comic, is the
epitome of things going a little too far. In the first issue, an otherwise
successful breast expansion spell leads to uncontrollable lactation. In the third
issue, one sister glues a diaper onto another as revenge for an incontinence
spell.
If the comic sounds crazy, it is,
but it’s also a lot of fun in a dark sort of way. Like if Joss Whedon had been
on crack when he conceived Buffy the
Vampire Slayer. Buffy comparisons are rather inadequate, though, especially
for the third issue. When one character drugs another, duck tapes her to a
door, and fingers her; things veer away from ‘darkly comic’ and become just
plain dark.
Not everyone’s cup of tea,
certainly, but not unfamiliar to any transformation fan who’s ever read Tainted Sins or Wandrer. Like Tainted Sins, Okayokayokok is not as concerned with any
specific type of transformation (inflation in this case) as he is with the humiliation and degradation
of his characters. Which means that ultimately, the third issue of Sanderson Step Sisters is like an
intense roller coaster ride: it’s exhilarating, but some might find themselves
a bit nauseated by the end.
